2020 - : Covid-19 Updates

Most recent update:

July 9, 2020

On July 8th, 2020, Governor Wolf and Dr. Levine issued an updated mandate regarding the wearing of masks. The most recent information can be found here:

The DHS, our licensing department, has piggy backed this mandate by issuing this interim guidance statement:

Our licensing representative informed us that we can begin this process gradually, starting with our oldest children. Therefore, beginning Monday, July 13, 2020, we are requiring all children to wear a cloth mask to the center. We will help them adjust to the feeling of wearing the mask and support them in their times of discomfort. This is going to be an adjustment for a lot of the kids, and we will handle it with patience, understanding, and empathy.
We feel eventually it will be a strict requirement for all children (older than 2) and want to get started as soon as possible to ease the transition.

If you have trouble receiving a cloth mask for your child by Monday, just let Sammi know when you expect it to arrive.
If you feel your child meets one of the exceptions listed in Section 3 of the order, please sign and return the mask waiver. (click on “waiver” for document)

Stronger Together!

Creative Minds Learning Center families,

I would first and foremost like to extend my thanks to all our parents and children for their continued support and kindness. This has, and remains, an unprecedented situation that we will only be able to get through together. To keep the communication lines open, I am going to post our updates on our website under “News and Updates” as well as send them through email. Brightwheel will send you a notification when there is a new update for you. Here are the most current updates:

Allegheny County Going Green June 5, 2020. Many of our parents have altered their plans for returning their child(ren). To ensure we have the most accurate information, we are going to ask for another survey submission. This survey will help us determine staff scheduling and room capacities.

Covid-19 Policies. Our policies and procedures for care during the green phase will remain the same as they are for the yellow phase. We will continue to seek guidance from the CDC and will alert you if policies change.

Enrollment Capacity. From June 1-June 12, we have enrollment capacity at just below 20%. Our phased approach for re-opening will bring enrollment up to 50% from June 15-June 26. If all indicators continue to be positive and the guidelines allow, we would like to operate at full capacity by July 6, 2020. Your new survey responses will help us plan out this phased in approach.

Holding your spot. If you choose to return after August 10 you will need to pay your full tuition to hold your spot that you wish to have through the Fall.

March Invoice Payment/Credit. Anyone who has returned as of July 6, 2020, or is paying their tuition to hold their spot, will begin to receive their credit for their March 16th invoice payment. These credits will automatically be applied to your invoice in several increments, based off your payment schedule.  If you wish to donate these credits back to the center, please let us know. Based off social distancing guidelines and PPE requirements, our costs have increased during a time when our income is low as we continue to recover from the shut down and maintain social distancing ratio’s.

Take Care, Emilie & Sammi
